Ms. Maya A.Z. Rodriguez is the Managing Partner and Principal of AZR Capital Ltd.
AZR Capital Ltd., a London-based firm operating with a dual-role structure: as a single-family office investing its own capital and as a capital-raising boutique partnering with established private market managers.
With over 20 years of experience in asset management and investor relations, Ms. Rodriguez has built deep allocator relationships across Europe and the Middle East. Since 2006, she has connected fund managers with institutional investors, family offices, and consultants.
Under her leadership, AZR Capital has developed a reputation for access, alignment, and innovation. The firm invests exclusively through funds and always commits its own capital alongside the managers it represents, ensuring true alignment of interests. AZR has been instrumental in providing investors access to oversubscribed, top-decile GPs, as well as co-investment opportunities, GP-led secondaries, and liquidity solutions. In 2019, the firm became one of the first in EMEA to back and intermediate independent sponsors, a capability that remains a distinctive edge today.
Prior to founding AZR Capital, Ms. Rodriguez held senior roles at 36 South Capital Advisors, where she led global sales, marketing, branding, and PR, helping establish the firm as a leader in volatility and tail-risk hedging strategies. She was a member of the Senior Management Group and pioneered a global series of educational initiatives on volatility as an asset class. Earlier in her career, she worked at Barclays Global Investors (BGI), covering institutional clients and wealth managers across Europe and the Middle East.
Ms. Rodriguez holds an MSc in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School (United Kingdom) and a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon). She has passed the CFA Level I exam and is an affiliate member of the CFA Institute.
Beyond her professional activities, she serves as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees at Women’s Trust, a London-based charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic.
