Mr. Torstein Braaten, Managing Director at Eskay Capital Corp., is a seasoned Capital Markets executive, focusing on capital formation within the private markets landscape.

Mr. Braaten’s distinguished career encompasses executive leadership roles in compliance at several leading Canadian digital asset trading platforms, where he served as Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Regulatory Affairs, stewarding the operations of regulated marketplaces for crypto assets.

Prior to his deep involvement in the digital asset sphere, Mr. Braaten held key leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, at a prominent institutional agency broker-dealer and its affiliated crossing network. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Compliance Officer within the capital markets division of a major Canadian chartered bank and as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of a pioneering alternative trading system.

A graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa with a Commerce degree, Mr. Braaten further honed his governance acumen through completion of the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation at Rotman in Toronto. Throughout his tenure of over three decades in capital markets, Mr. Braaten has cultivated a comprehensive proficiency in risk management, regulatory strategy, and the intricate dynamics of financial compliance.

Mr. Braaten holds Series 7, 24, and 63 registrations with FINRA.
