Mr. Jay Allen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Confero Capital LLC. Mr. Allen excels at bringing innovative ideas and investors together. Mr. Allen specializes in capital raising for emerging and growth companies, infrastructure projects, and real estate opportunities.
Mr. Allen is a veteran financial services executive who spent over 30 years at Credit Suisse as a Managing Director in fixed income sales and client management. He began his career in mortgage securities sales in New York City and transitioned to managing the largest Boston institutional clients for the full range of securitized products. As Key Account Manager, he established and enhanced client relationships with money managers, insurance companies, banks, and hedge funds in Boston. Mr. Allen is known for delivering in the short-run and establishing productive collaboration in the long run. He is a compelling negotiator, multi-dimensional team leader, passionate organizer, and tenacious problem solver.
Mr. Allen graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Colby College and served on Colby’s visitor committee from 2013-2021. Mr. Allen is a dedicated mentor to Colby students interested in pursuing careers in the finance industry. He established “Paving the Road to a Future in Finance”, a financial career day in Boston for Colby students, in 2012 and has hosted the event for the past ten years. Extending his mentorship beyond the student population, Mr. Allen launched the Colby Financial Alumni Club in 2016 and the Passionate Alumni Advisor program in 2017. Mr. Allen’s work has led to over 600 student pairings with financial services and consulting mentors. Jay was recently awarded the Ernest C. Marriner Distinguished Service Award at his 35th Colby reunion.
Mr. Allen serves on the board of Cathedral High School in Boston, a Catholic, urban and coeducational college preparatory school committed to excellence and social justice.
Mr. Allen and his wife Laurie live near Boston, where he enjoys golf and mountain biking.
Mr. Allen currently holds series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA.
