Mr. Joseph Weilgus, CPA is the Managing Partner of New Legacy Investment Group, LLC, a capital raising group primarily focused on direct investments. He also currently serves as the CEO of the New Legacy Investment Group of Companies, an SEC registered investment advisory firm that includes investment advisory and other services focused on the needs of families of significant net worth, a fund allocation business, and a direct investment business with holdings across technology, real estate, finance, and other sectors. Mr. Weilgus also co-founded Syno Capital, a New Legacy subsidiary focused on healthcare and bio-tech investments.
Prior to co-founding New Legacy in 2007, Mr. Weilgus was President of Geller Holdings, LLC and Managing Director, Client Relations at Geller & Co where he advised clients and firm principals on numerous investments and structured financial transactions, as well as the growth of the company's business.
Prior to joining Geller, Mr. Weilgus was Director of Client Relations at American Express Tax and Business Services Inc. ("TBS") and was responsible for the Venture Services Group as well as the Government Services Group as part of his business development role. He has helped companies and governments improve their businesses and operations by advising and introducing senior management to financing and funding sources, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions and debt-offerings. Mr. Weilgus was the driving force behind financing transactions in excess of $500 million in 2004 and 2005 and launched numerous initiatives within TBS. Before joining American Express he was a Senior Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the audit practice where he earned his CPA.
Mr. Weilgus was selected by the Harvard Business School Club of New York as the Not-for-Profit Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 for his outstanding work as Founder and Chairman of Project Sunshine, a multi-national children's non-profit organization. Mr. Weilgus founded Project Sunshine out of his college dorm room in 1998. Its 18,000 volunteers now serve over 150,000 children a year in 175 cities across the U.S., Canada, Africa, China and the Middle East. In 2004, he was awarded the 8th Annual Business Leadership Award from Yeshiva University. He, along with Project Sunshine, has received numerous honorariums, including ringing the opening and closing bells at the NYSE and NASDAQ exchanges in honor of the Mayor Bloomberg's declaration of Project Sunshine Week in New York City over the past several years.
Mr. Weilgus earned a B.S. in Accounting from Yeshiva University in 1999 and has participated in executive education programs at Harvard Business School. He was an undefeated NCAA tennis player and Editor-in-Chief of the business newspaper at Yeshiva. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Project Sunshine, an active member of the Young Presidents Organization, a board member of the American Hebrew Academy in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Mr. Weilgus currently holds Series 7 and 63 licenses with FINRA.
Mr. Albert J. Petrole is the Operations Associate with New Legacy Investment Group LLC. Mr. Petrole joined the New Legacy Group of Companies in 2021.
Prior to joining New Legacy, Mr. Petrole was a Senior Associate in PwC’s Financial Markets practice where he led transaction advisory and valuation service engagements.
Mr. Petrole graduated from the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in Internal Business. Mr. Petrole also has education in International Business from Temple University, Rome.
Mr. Petrole is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
